General mode of treatment

A patient can be treated as in-patient or out-patient according to the condition. Usually, in Modern Medicine, rest, traction and a variety of pain killers are given to alleviate pain and inflammation. In majority of the cases, these relieve pain temporarily, but it reappears after the effect of the medicines die down. In some cases, the patient fails to respond completely, for which surgery is the only choice in Modern Medicine. Or, the patient is forced to live with pain killers and orthopaedic gadgets.

Mode of treatment at Veda

At Veda, the protocol is entirely different. Here a program is made according to the condition of each patient. This usually includes consumption of a ghee-based medicine for 2-3 days, with a strict diet, followed by purging, for cleaning the gut. Once the gut is clean, the medicines applied through the route will be more effective. Then internal medicine is selected according to the condition of the patient, the organ affected, ayurvedic constitution and doshavastha. Veda has developed special medicines for slip disc, ostoporosis and arthritis. Massage has an important role in disc prolapse and herniation of disc. This is also done according to the condition of the patient, ranging from 2 to 30 days. The pressure of the massage will be graded so that in the first two days or till the inflammation subsides, oil or the decoction will be just poured. This will be followed by a skin-deep pressure for 2 to 5 days and then moderate pressure in the remaining days. Traction and manipulation will be done wherever necessary. At Veda, a protocol has been developed to identify the correct pressure points, materials and technique.

Only herbal medicines are used in the entire course of treatment. These include a variety of extracts using water, oil, ghee, etc. They are used both internally and externally. Sometimes anal application in the form of enema, and nasal application (for cervical spondylosis, etc.) will also be needed. These medicines are specially prepared in own manufacturing unit of Veda.
